For this first post of 2025, as I gently land after six weeks spent in Peru, I feel inspired to share a theme that is particularly close to my heart: abundance born of an open and grateful state of being.

The Goddess Lakshmi
The Goddess Lakshmi

This reflection was sparked by a simple yet powerful video a dear friend recently sent me. It awakened memories of my teenage years in India, where I would accompany my mother to the pujas. At that time, Ganesha, the elephant god, was my favourite. And how could I forget Hanumana, the monkey god invoked when something is lost? (Perfect for anyone with ADD!)

Today, it is Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and Pachamama, the Mother Earth of Andean tradition, who inspire me. But it is also Mama Rosa, through her example, who embodies another form of abundance. Last week, I had the privilege of staying with Mama Rosa, an exceptional woman living in profound simplicity on the island of Amantani, on Lake Titicaca. Through her, I rediscovered the very essence of abundance: the kind that springs from the attention we give to our home, our bodies, and to others. Every gesture she made – whether preparing a meal, carefully decorating her house, or greeting with warmth – exuded rightness, respect, and gratitude for all that she had. Mama Rosa reminded me that abundance does not reside in accumulation, but in the love and mindfulness with which we nurture what surrounds us.

Drawing from these inspirations, I’d like to share some essential keys for nurturing a life that is both richer and more aligned with your true self.

I often speak of our trauma wounds and how they can block us in life. But I also want to remind you that we must learn to care for ourselves and allow ourselves to receive. Abundance should never be a source of shame or guilt.

For this new year, I wish for all of us to cultivate abundance in every aspect of our lives. Let us draw inspiration from Lakshmi, Pachamama, and nurturing figures like Mama Rosa to create a balance of gratitude, respect, and love in our daily actions. Through this open state, may our lives be filled with prosperity and inner peace.

Abundance Inspired by Lakshmi, Pachamama and Mama Rosa

Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and fortune, is often depicted seated on a lotus, symbolising purity and renewal. She inspires us to cultivate not only material wealth but also spiritual richness. Her teachings, full of wisdom and compassion, invite us to embody values that attract abundance into our daily lives. As for Pachamama, the revered Earth Mother of Andean culture, she reminds us of the importance of nurturing a deep connection with nature, the source of all life and all wealth.

Here are 13 keys, enriched with teachings inspired by Lakshmi and Pachamama, to welcome abundance into every area of your life:

1. Express prosperity through your words

The words you choose create your reality. When you affirm thoughts such as "I don’t have enough" or "I must be careful with every penny," you unconsciously close the doors to abundance. Replace these limiting beliefs with positive affirmations that open the space to receive.

Example: Start your day by saying, "I am aligned with prosperity, and abundance flows freely into my life," or, simply, "I always have enough."

2. Create space to receive

Clear your home and your mind. A clear space invites positive energy.

Example: Declutter your space and donate things you no longer need.

3. Transform beauty into sacred presence

Honour your environment with care and elegance. Nourish loving thoughts and recognise the beauty around you, much like how Pachamama is revered in every mountain and stream.

Example: Add a plant or a bouquet of flowers to your space and take time to admire them.

4. Savour the present moment as a sacred art

See the richness in the little things and appreciate what you have.

Example: Savour your tea or coffee mindfully, thinking of all the people and natural elements that contributed to that moment.

5. Self-love, the source of abundance

Care for your body and mind with love, honouring the life Pachamama has gifted you.

Example: Treat yourself to a massage or a walk in nature to recharge.

6. Compassion as a hidden treasure

Share your empathy and time with those in need, just like Mama Rosa, who warmly opened her home.

Example: Cook a warm meal and deliver it to someone in need in your neighbourhood or a shelter.

7. Invest in what matters

Prioritise quality over quantity. The right choices invite greater value into your life

Example: Swap impulse purchases for clothing crafted from quality materials or for items that stand the test of time.

8. The energy of multiplication

Dedicate your time to activities that generate growth and opportunities, like planting a seed for Pachamama.

Example: Start a project that reflects your deepest values and fills you with joy, much like a seed that, with care and intention, blossoms into something precious.

9. Free your blockages through introspection

Examine your limiting beliefs and open yourself to prosperity.

Example: Replace "I don’t deserve it" with "I live on an abundant planet and deserve all the good life offers me."

10. Embrace daily gratitude

Acknowledging what you have will bring more abundance into your life.

Example: Each evening, before sleep, pause to reflect on - or better, jot down - three things you’re grateful for that day. It could be as simple as a shared smile, a delicious meal, or a peaceful moment of calm.

11. Surround yourself with inspiring people

Your surroundings influence your energy. Choose positive people.

Example: Join a group or community that shares your values.

12. Cultivate learning

Keep learning to open new perspectives, just as nature teaches us every day.

Example: Sign up for a course that lights you up.

13. Give generously

Giving is an act that invites abundance in return.

Example: Donate or share your skills with others, just as offerings are made to Pachamama in Andean traditions.

Embracing these principles is opening the doors of your soul, allowing abundance to unfold with grace and harmony. May 2025 become a haven of prosperity, love and joy for you for reading these lines!
